Jeffco Challenge INFO and Insights
Here is the Team Manager Training Documentation created by Dwight Rudolf for our Colorado DIrect DIposit TM training. This presentation has vestiges of Dwight's pragmatic humor and insights that percolate through making it fun as well as functional. It is filled with excellent Team Manager tips and advice as well as specific information for DIrect DIposit. A tip of the Hard Hat to Dwight for making this available to all interested Team Managers and trainers around the globe.
One Caveat: This Training Aid is accurate as of 11.22.2009. It would be great to have documents that reflect every General Clarification and every nuance known at the end of the season, but that, of course, is fantasy as most of us still live in linear time and feebly have to make our way toward enlightenment.
To those of you who care about such things the entire file (46 pages) has been reduced to 1.5 meg download. You can easily scroll up and back as well as keep track of exact pages during your discussions with your Team.

One of the prime things that we as Challenge Masters try to stress in Team Manager Training is that the more clearly a team understands the Challenge rules, the more fun they seem to have at their Presentation. As a Team Manager it is not Interference to work with your team to help them understand the basic Challenge rules. You can not project a solution, but you can be sure that they have the basics down.

This concept is no different than a baseball game. You can't play the game for the team, you can't bat or field the ball, but you can be sure that they know running to first base instead of left field when they get a hit is what the rules state they must do. Creativity does not necessarily equate with chaos and there are definitely some rules associated with every Destination ImagiNation Challenge.
Every year there are certain Challenge areas that we think might cause teams trouble if they ignore them. These are areas that are stated clearly in the Challenge, but that we think teams might not understand fully how important they are. We make every effort to point these areas out to everyone in order to level the playing field and to let teams get on to the real business at hand. Here are several areas that we want every team to understand in regard to DIrect DIposit :
